BASIC FUNCTION:
Provide education and support to improve the health and welfare of low-income, first time parents and their children.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach and counsel new mothers at home, beginning in pregnancy and ending at the child’s second birthday.
- Assist in developing parenting and life skills.
- Improve maternal/child health and identify a parenting approach that will result in successful and healthy parents and children.
- Responsible for a maximum caseload of 25 families.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSN Degree required.
- Current Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Experience in Maternal/Child Health, Home Visiting and/or Community Health.
